Harveys do not have any on-licenced resources (in particular - bar staff): All our pubs are run by self employed tenants, (not staff employed by the brewery).
The popularity of our beer throughout our trading area can result in occasional frustration for drinking customers when the beer cannot be found at a local event, Such As:
To enable our beer to be offered at more such events, Harveys has a grand mobile unit for hire in the form of a converted Double Decker Bus. The top deck contains a small galley kitchen and seating at fixed tables. The lower deck is configured for beer storage and dispense in the form of an air conditioned cellar and bar. An awning, running the length of the bus, can be erected when necessary.
Costs. To hire the bus independently, there is a charge of not less than £250.00 payable in advance, plus a deposit. This fee will include the vehicle's delivery and return to and from an agreed and reconnoitred venue. Additional charges apply depending on whether the awning is required, an electricity generator needs to be provided, etc.
Harveys do not have any on-licenced resourses (in particular - bar staff): All our pubs are run by self employed tenants, (not staff employed by the brewery).
However, before employing this facility, there are a number of Logistical Considerations:
1. Licences: In order to sell alcohol at an outside event, a licence needs to have been granted by the appropriate local authority. This can take over a month to process and is usually best achieved under a T.E.N. (temporary event notice) of an existing liquor licensee. Harveys are effectively simply hiring dispense equipment in the form of this bus and take no responsibility for licensing permits. However we may seek assurances that such permissions are in order.
2. Staffing:Staff costs are key to assessing the success and rewards of outside events. Too few staff at a successful event and the service will be poor, leading to customer dissatisfaction. Too many staff, if it pours with rain, equals potential elimination of profit. The ideal operator has two or three capable people who can be called on at short notice to assist. Profits can be substantial, but bad weather losses can be painful.
3. Insurances: Harveys will insure the physical considerations of the bus, delivering it to site, insuring it against being bogged down or weather damaged. However no provision will have been made for public liability insurance. Harveys are likely to insist on seeing that insurance cover has been acquired.
