All 48 Harvey Houses are run under tenancy (lease), or franchise - i.e. although the pub premises is owned by Harveys, it is the tenant who is responsible for how the business is operated. It is the tenant who sets prices, employs staff, decides what food to offer, etc. Harveys supplies all the drink and shows a keen interest in the beer and wine on offer. Although the business ultimately belongs to the tenant, a traditional spirit of partnership between brewery and tenant must prevail in this type of enterprise. Harveys is constantly seeking the best people to run our pubs when they become available. Are you are interested in knowing more about Running Your Own Harvey Pub?
All Harveys houses have one thing in common, they are all different. We have examples of the timbered country pub, the gourmet food house, the large sports bar, the Victorian 'gin palace', or the city beer house. In general terms, the appearance of Harvey Public Houses tends towards the traditional and in trading culture, the emphasis leans towards servicing the needs of the surrounding community, rather than concentrating on a specific type of customer from further afield.
If, like us, you relish the diversity of the British pub you should consider visiting our pubs on the Harvey Hop. You will then discover two other elements that all Harvey houses offer: a warm welcome and top quality refreshment; whether you call for cask ale or appreciate a good wine.
