In a word 'Historic', the cellars of this building date to the 11th century.
The Lamb is therefore one of the oldest pubs in England. Moreover, it had close links to the neigbouring Norman church and numerous ecclesiastical links with local monastic orders. ancient features include the well, a secret passage, gargoyles and a crypted cellar
The bars are also ancient and unspoilt, however a recent fire has facilitated a new kitchen, and a wealth of new facilities:
