Trade Organisations
British brewing has long been a fraternal industry. The social interaction among brewers and the need to share technical information has always outweighed any competitive thoughts of recipe protection. To this mutually beneficial end, a number of trade bodies and specialist organisations have evolved.
Harvey and Son (Lewes) Ltd is affiliated with the following Organisations:
- The British Beer and Pub Association BBPA (The industry's primary professional organisation).
- Campaign for Real Ale CAMRA (The nation's most successful consumer body).
- Cask Marque (Independent accreditation for cask ale quality).
- Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers ALMR (The pub trade's leading professional body).
- The British institute of Innkeeping BII (the Independent pub operators central advisory body).
- The Worshipful Company of Brewers (Livery company, founded 1315 ).
- The All Parliamentary Beer group (political association).
- The Independent Family Brewers Association. IFBA (heritage brewers).
- The Beer Academy (retail training organisation).
- The Brewers Guild (beer production).
- The Brewery research Foundation (scientific Research & Development).
