This strong barley wine is reminiscent of the “October Ales” which were brewed in domestic brew houses during the reign of Elizabeth I. Based on the iconic Elizabethan Ale, a firm favourite that has been in production at Harvey's for over 65 years.

There is patience here and it makes for a really complex dark full bodied ale with a real depth of flavour.
The sweet bouncy malt and savoury finish makes it perfect for a big traditional ploughman's or plate of strong cheese and dry smoked ham.
There's a rich sweetness that could mellow a bold blue cheese and would most certainly lift a smokey plate of barbecued meats.
