Introducing Bellowhead’s Revival Ale

Revival Ale to go on sale for November tour / Band to play after show pub sessions

Harveys Bellowhead Revival AleWe are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with Britain’s biggest traditional folk act Bellowhead to create Revival Ale. This new golden ale, brewed using Sussex hops, celebrates the band’s 10th year anniversary and new album, also called Revival.

The new beer completes an interesting circle for the band. Back in 2010, they were the first musical act to brew their own Ale, Hedonism, in conjunction with the Potbelly microbrewery. At that time, folk music and real ale was still seen more as the punchline to a joke, and the idea of the beer was a typically tongue-in-cheek response. Four short years later, during which the band watched in amazement as acts as diverse as Elbow, Madness and even Iron Maiden released their own beers, Bellowhead return to raise the stakes.

The band will visit the brewery on Tuesday 14th October to participate in the first brew of Revival Ale. They will return to the brewery on Tuesday 28th October for a special event including our horses and dray cart.

The beer will be ready for at the start of November. It will also be available in bottles shortly after via our webshop.

After-show Sessions with Revival Ale on tap

Around their November tour, members of Bellowhead will be playing after-show sessions in local pubs with Revival Ale on tap! Fans and local musicians will be encouraged to participate via social media by nominating local pubs and coming along after the show.

The whole venture is to be announced live on the Mark Radcliffe Folk Show on BBC Radio 2 at 7pm on 15th Wednesday and, in addition, the band will be playing a taster session in a local pub after the show. Harveys Bellowhead Revival Ale

Harveys first beer with national distribution

Revival also marks a milestone in Harveys 224 history. Previously, our draught beers have been restricted to distribution within an 80 mile radius of the brewery the quality of our beers & their general unavailability meaning there was much untapped demand throughout the country. Revival is the first draught Harveys beer that will be on extended distribution via selected wholesalers.
