Introducing Our Fresh New Look

PRESS RELEASE

Iconic East Sussex brewery Harvey’s is re-branding its beer range. The new look will be officially unveiled at the trade session of the Great British Beer Festival tomorrow (Tuesday 9th August).

The re-brand also includes plans to formally expand the brewery’s sales area throughout the UK. Historically it has only sold beer to customers within a 60 mile radius of the brewery, but the British beer boom has prompted it to offer its beer further afield.

“We’ve got two centuries expertise in brewing and we’re well known by our loyal customers and discerning drinkers for being the original Sussex brewer – making the finest quality beers,” says Harvey’s Brewery spokesman Bob Trimm.

“But we’ve also got plenty to offer a new generation of drinkers and we think our new visual branding will make it easier for them – and those who already love our beers – to find us on the bar.”

The new designs portray Harvey’s Brewery as both modern and traditional and will be used on all its beers, POS material and glassware available to the trade.

Pumpclips for its core range, including flagship brews Sussex Best Bitter and Old Ale, feature clean, modern illustrations associated with each beer. An image of the brewery building – a landmark in the East Sussex county town of Lewes – will feature on pump handles. Its seasonal range will be illustrated by local artist Malcolm Trollope-Davis, best known for his Lewes Map.

As well as new visual branding the brewery is also introducing a new strapline aimed at summing up the strength of character behind the brand. ‘We wunt be druv,’ is also the unofficial county motto of Sussex. Used locally for generations, it’s a Sussex dialect phrase meaning, ‘we will not be driven’.

“It’s a saying that reflects the independence, spirit and pride that’s always been at the heart of the county and we feel it fits with the Harvey’s ethos.” explains Bob.

“We’re proud to have been independent since 1790 and want to assure our customers that we’re here for them and looking forward to our next 226 years of brewing.”
