Robin’s Recipe: Valentine Soup with a Kiss

Save yourself a heap of cash by treating your loved one to a supper of this fabulous soup – it’s more effective than chocolate, flowers or an expensive meal out.*

The Recipe

Peel/chop the following Method
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 small butternut
  • A couple of handfuls Jerusalem artichokes
  • 2 sticks celery
  • 1 inch piece root ginger
  • Plus
  • Vegetable/ Chicken stock
  • Orange juice
  • Kiss Ale
  1. Sweat onions in a knob of butter and olive oil
  2. Add other vegetables, stir to coat with oils
  3. Add stock to cover all by an inch
  4. Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes until vegetables are tender but cooked
  5. Cool slightly then process in a blender
  6. Return to pan and add some orange juice – about a quarter of a pint, add slowly and taste, plus a splash of Kiss Ale
  7. Season with salt and pepper, warm through
  8. Serve with crusty bread and a glass of Kiss Ale
