The magic of Maconnais

Beautiful scenery,  a place perhaps to contemplate life, and refresh mind body and soul with the aid of some great wine of the Maconnais.

I am very excited to report some subtle changes to our extensive Burgundy collection so I couldn’t wait to reach for the cork screw and glass and start pouring….

For me it had to be a Pouilly Fuisse –  Terre du Menhir to be precise.

On the nose, it instantly makes me think of baking bread – a bit yeasty. There are fruity aromas of apple and pear, with hints of tropical notes.

On the palate, fresh and vibrant,  a fruity well balanced dry white. Delicious and well worth trying..

This wine would go well with fish dishes and white meats.

A small point of interest, the vineyards are manually worked, and have natural and organic controls in place, no pesticides or herbicides are used in these vineyards.
