Beautiful scenery, a place perhaps to contemplate life, and refresh mind body and soul with the aid of some great wine of the Maconnais.
I am very excited to report some subtle changes to our extensive Burgundy collection so I couldn’t wait to reach for the cork screw and glass and start pouring….
For me it had to be a Pouilly Fuisse – Terre du Menhir to be precise.
On the nose, it instantly makes me think of baking bread – a bit yeasty. There are fruity aromas of apple and pear, with hints of tropical notes.
On the palate, fresh and vibrant, a fruity well balanced dry white. Delicious and well worth trying..
This wine would go well with fish dishes and white meats.
A small point of interest, the vineyards are manually worked, and have natural and organic controls in place, no pesticides or herbicides are used in these vineyards.
