Back to the future – Harveys new IPA

Harveys new IPA is a continuation of our IPA that was originally brewed in 1920 by newly appointed Head Brewer at the time, Harold Evans. It was recorded in his brewing journal that “this brew was extremely well liked”

The origins of IPA can be traced back to the 1700s, however the beer’s height of prominence came in the mid to late 1800s when the ‘demand for a light beer that could be served cold was most suited to the Anglo-Indian Palate’ (1)

In conjunction with this launch there is a new pump clip (right), poster,  and our glassware now features a QR code, which when scanned, will take customers to our IPA page with all the details about the product*.

Tasting Note for IPA

“With a delicate grassy and earthy hop aroma, the refreshing bitterness of this beer is balanced by the subtle malt flavours  which makes for an extremely drinkable pint that has a dry finish and lasting after taste.”

IPA was launched on 4th of March 2013
We hope all of our customers like the new IPA and as always comments and feedback are well received. These can be left below, or via the Contact Us section of the site.

  1. I can’t wait to try your New IPA. Where can I find it in Hastings.

    1. Hi, The White Rock Hotel, or The Queens Head, Icklesham should have it. I would suggest calling ahead to be sure it is available for your visit. Kind Regards, Zoë Prescott, Online Development Manager.
