  1. Born and breed in Newhaven brilliant to know this lovely old building is going to be used as a Public House and not turned into flats as so many of these old properties are. I wish you every success.

  2. This is excellent news, and it’s nice to know that a local brewery with local interests has acquired it. Good luck for the future.

  3. Sounds like a brilliant step forward

  4. This is awesome news! Can’t wait 🙂

  5. It’s been sold as the business was failing. What were the reasons behind the failure? and what are they planning to do different to address that? I cant see a lick of paint changing the business prospects, so looking forward to radical changes..
Dare I suggest a music venue – somewhere *properly* equipped for live music – pa, lights, little stage, proper sfae electrics etc?

    1. Hi Clive, I’m afraid I’m not sure on the ins and outs of why the pub was sold. As we only bought it this week, we will be updating the website and social media sites with any future details. Kind Regards, Zoe.

  6. Fantastic news! This is a beautiful pub with so much potential – it couldn’t be in better hands. Looking forward to a pint of best in there soon. 😀

  7. This is fantastic news, I am so pleased. I look forward to popping in for a Harvey’s.

    1. Hi Georgie no updates at the moment, sorry. Any news will be posted here and on our social pages as soon as it comes in.

      All the best, Marie

  9. Hi, will this be a managed house or lease/tenancy?

    1. Hi Mick, this is still undecided, but it seems to be more likely to be a tenancy at the moment. We hope to have some clearer details in the new year.

      Kind regards,
      Marie

  10. Hello,

I was just wondering if you could help me. I’m currently seeking part time work and I understand The Bridge is under redevelopment. If there is any possible chance of any job applications being taken please could you let me know any details?

    Many thanks

    Jessie

    1. Dear Paul,
Thank you for your interest in The Bridge at Newhaven.
Harvey’s plans for the house are not yet complete, however we will publish the final plan online when it is ready.
I am not expecting a great deal to happen for at least 6/7 months I am afraid.
      Kind regards, Marie Welsh.

  13. Hi,

Is this still happening? We’re moving to Newhaven soon and it would be fantastic if there was a Harveys tied house in the town. We would certainly be regular visitors!

  14. The Bridge is one of the oldest structures in Newhaven town centre, previously called New Inn. I live in the town and it is still empty and looking unloved. When will any work on the building commence?

  15. Any update on the Bridge Inn at Newhaven?

    1. Hi Alan, Thank you for your enquiry concerning the Bridge Inn. I am afraid we have no real news for you on this. We are still involved in planning issues.

      Kind regards,
      Marie

  16. I moved into Newhaven 6 month ago. Would be nice to have a decent pub in the town. Hope this works out.:)
