With almost half the estate taking part what a great summer competition we had this year. I am sure that you do not want me to go on about the weather, but at least it was the same for all the contestants.
The Final Results:
Winner :- The Elephants Head.
A really good show of varied and mixed planting.
The runners up are:- The Halfway House & The Cricketers Arms.
It was all very close so extremely well done.
Winner :- The Bricklayers Arms.
The front of the pub looked a real picture.
The runners up are:- The Poets Corner & The Old Mill.
Both houses were really well presented. A great effort.
Winner :- The Mitre Tavern.
With the front baskets giving a real splash of colour and the little courtyard so well presented this was a natural winner.
The runners up are:- The White Hart, Crawley & The Pilot Tavern.
Both these houses had highly commended courtyard gardens.
Winner :- The Rose & Crown.
It really did look like the classic very attractive village pub
The runners up are:- The Royal Oak, Barcombe & The Foresters Arms.
On a miserable damp day both these houses looked fine and inviting.
The Directors Rose bowl, for The Best House , Overall.
Winner:- The Blackboys Inn.
A sterling effort has gone in to keeping this country house looking so attractive. Nick, Russell, Amanda & Petre must be congratulated on this real labour of love for this historic old pub.
All winners will £200 in GARDEN CENTRE VOUCHERS and a certificate.
