Harvey’s Brewery is pleased to announce plans to create a collection of eight premium boutique, en-suite rooms above its brewery shop on Cliffe High Street, Lewes.
Currently in development, the project will see part of the brewery’s former office space thoughtfully transformed, bringing new life to a well-known part of the site while retaining a strong connection to Harvey’s long-standing history in the town. Brewery staff have recently relocated to their Depot site, in Daveys Lane, Lewes, marking a natural next step in the business’s evolution.
Working with JSA Architects, Cheesmur Building Contractors and local interior designers Pfeiffer Design, the rooms are being carefully designed to offer a premium experience, with the unique distinction of being located at the very heart of Sussex’s oldest working brewery.
The development will also complement Harvey’s popular brewery tours, giving guests the opportunity to pair an overnight stay with an immersive experience of the brewery and its facilities.
Hamish Elder, Chairman and Managing Director of Harvey’s Brewery, said:
“Having brewed on this site for eight generations, we’re very conscious of the history around us. This project allows us to preserve that connection while opening up a new chapter for the brewery. It’s an exciting step in broadening what we offer, and in welcoming more people to experience Lewes and Harvey’s.”
Harvey’s hopes the new accommodation will contribute positively to the local economy by encouraging more visitors to stay in Lewes, supporting local businesses and showcasing everything the town has to offer.
The rooms are expected to open towards the end of the year, with further updates to follow as the project progresses.
