Harveys Pubs

The Royal Oak

44 Tabard Street
The Borough
London
SE1 4JU

02073 577173

This Victorian corner pub has been lovingly restored to an authentic city beer house.  Located near to the site of Geoffrey Chaucer's Tabard Inn The Royal Oak seems to mirror, in a contemporary sense, the local ale drinking traditions that are recorded in his Canterbury Tales.  Real Ale enthusiasts certainly regard this house as special, Cask Mild is a firm favourite.
Voted one of the UK's Top 10 pubs in a Daily Telegraph article on 10th April 2010 entitled: Where  to drink great beer.
