Tom Paine Tahini and Hummous Loaf

Robin has cooked us up something new, but this time with a recipe from brilliant Becky from our Sales Team!

Tom Paine Tahini and Hummous Loaf


  • 3 cups spelt flour
  • 1 cup water
  • Half cup Tom Paine Ale
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup tahini
  • pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon of copped thyme/ rosemary
  • To top: Sprinkle of seeds – for topping, pumpkin, beechmast, hazelnut etc


  • Stir all ingredients thoroughly to mix in a large bowl
  • Place in a 1lb loaf tin lined with greaseproof paper
  • Bake 55 minutes in a preheated oven gas mark 5
  • Test by inserting a sharp knife – should come out clean
  • Rest on wire rack

Serve with butter, jam, South Downs chutney and a quart of Tom Paine Ale…
